Organic farming
The Distillerie du Peyrat is located 10 km from the city of Cognac (Charente, France) and produces high quality Cognacs since 1725. Distillerie du Peyrat’ products are certified organic by ECOCERT and the USDA.
Spirits are elaborated with a unique double distillation process, known as “fatty distillation”, which increases Cognac’s aromatic richness and adds up smoothness during the maturation process. Cognacs are finally aged in Limousin oak barrels. Distillerie du Peyrat Cognacs have been awarded with many international prices.
Distillerie du Peyrat is committed to develop its products and to run its activity in a sustainable fashion. Since 1998, they have chosen to grow the entire vineyard according to organic farming methods and they exclusively trade with local organic producers to craft their spirits.
In addition to their commitment to organic farming they have taken different steps to reduce the ecological impact of their activity (ex: solar panels onsite to contribute to the generation of clean energy – packaging’s labels and stickers are issued from recycled paper – dealing with local stakeholders to bottle the spirits in order to avoid all unnecessary greenhouse gas emissions).
